Wells’writing of Case Study: Migrant Mother, discusses the famous Dorothea Lange
photograph titled, Migrant
Mother. Migrant Mother
is a very popular series of photographs. The amazing thing I found about the
piece the Migrant Mother is that it started off as a photograph and evolved
into a symbol or an icon. I found his analysis of a
documentarian very interesting. He talked about the documentarian as an artist
and the artists as a documentarian. Documentarian as an artist and the artists
as a documentarian is a constantly changing subject. The subject if a
documentary photography can be artistic is very interesting. After seeing the Migrant Mother I believe that
documentary photography can be art. Migrant Mother is a perfect example of art
being a document but at the same time it is very artistic. For example, it
shows a very emotional picture but at the same time it has amazing contrasts
that you would see in photos that are considered art. In conclusion, Wells’writing of Case Study: Migrant Mother is very influential.
